# DOE SULI Summer 2027: application dates, eligibility and materials

## Transfer transcripts: combine the underlying grade points

DOE's SULI system uses transcript information from the applicable institutions to calculate cumulative GPA. In this invented example, every credit shown counts in that calculation and both transcripts provide the quality points.

### Fictional transcript inputs

| Institution | Graded credits | Quality points | GPA |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| College A | 30 | 102 | 3.40 |
| College B | 15 | 42 | 2.80 |
| Combined | 45 | 144 | 3.20 |

## Your turn

Why is the combined GPA 3.20 rather than the simple average of 3.40 and 2.80?

## Your answer

## For your own application

Open each required transcript and identify the fields the DOE system requests before entering totals.
