Give each saved role a next action.
Choose Save on a listing, then open Saved roles. Add a next action, such as checking a requirement or tailoring a resume bullet. Set a personal target date and choose Save plan.
The stage selector tracks your own progress from Interested through Preparing, Applied, Interviewing, Offer, and Closed. Changing a stage does not submit an application or update the employer.
Keep questions and application details together.
Use notes for what interests you, requirements to check, and where you left off. Keep the task and target date in the plan fields. Your saved title, notes, and plan remain available if the listing’s current details can’t be loaded.
Your personal application stage and the source’s listing status are different. You may have applied to a role that later leaves active search.
Review what is due this week.
Use Today & overdue, Next 7 days, and Need a date to choose what to work on. Personal targets are separate from employer deadlines. You can download your targets as calendar events; the file does not update when you change your plan.
Student questions about managing your shortlist.
Does changing a role’s stage on InternshipDeadlines update my application with the employer? No. The stage selector is personal tracking for your own progress. Changing it does not submit an application or update the employer.
Does the shortlist have a separate target-date field? Yes. You can set a personal target date while planning your application. Keep your own target separate from an employer deadline, which should remain tied to the current source posting.
What happens to my notes if a listing can no longer be loaded? Your saved title, notes, and personal application stage remain available even if current listing details become unavailable. A role leaving active search does not erase your progress.
How many roles can I track? The shortlist supports up to 500 roles and the comparison view supports up to four. Keep a separate copy of important application records.
