Decide which role you are applying for

Application decision: Important distinction · What to use: Language ability, work authorization and country-specific eligibility must be checked separately. A U.S. internship program does not imply eligibility for the same company’s overseas program. Do not assume that “global” means employer-funded travel or a remote position.

Build this work sample

Prepare a market-entry memo for one product in one country. Compare customer needs, distribution options, operating costs and uncertainties using current primary sources. Separate currency effects from changes in underlying demand. State which legal or tax questions require professional review rather than trying to resolve them from a classroom model. Include a go/no-go condition.

A test that makes the sample credible

Make the proposed entry route work under a weaker exchange-rate assumption and a slower distributor ramp. Show which uncertainty belongs in the model and which requires a local specialist. The memo should conclude with a conditional decision, not a country ranking unsupported by the product and channel economics.

This is an editorial preparation exercise, not an employer assessment or a claim that a program assigns this work.

Supply chain, procurement and logistics

Supply chain work includes sourcing inputs, planning inventory, moving goods and coordinating suppliers. Procurement is not the same as warehouse operations, and demand planning is not the same as transportation. Search procurement intern, supply planning, demand planning, logistics analyst and distribution operations separately. The BLS logistician profile explains the broader lifecycle of moving and supplying products.

Consulting, commercial strategy and project analysis

Consulting and strategy work begins with a question a decision-maker needs answered. The task may involve costs, market entry, organization design or an operating problem. Search consulting intern, strategy analyst, business transformation, commercial strategy and advisory. The BLS management analyst profile explains the occupation; undergraduate internship access and assessment formats vary by employer and practice.

Marketing, consumer research and growth analysis

Marketing internships differ sharply between market research, brand work, performance channels, lifecycle communication and sales support. Search the function, not just “marketing.” The BLS market research analyst profile provides background on understanding customers and evaluating markets, but does not imply that every marketing position is an analytical research role.

Corporate finance and investment analysis

Corporate finance asks how a business performs and how it should allocate resources. Investment analysis asks what an asset may be worth, what can go wrong and whether the expected return compensates for that risk. A company’s planning team, a lender and an investment manager may all advertise an “analyst” internship while evaluating very different decisions. The BLS financial analyst profile is useful occupational background, not evidence that an internship accepts every business major.

Application and offer checks

Read the actual duties and entry conditions before choosing which version of this project to submit. For the routes above, use the posting to confirm the degree level, return-to-study rule, work location and dates. The linked program pages are starting points, not verified 2027 vacancies.

Compare the stated pay unit, paid weeks, location, transport and housing support. No current internship pay range is established here; occupational median wages are not intern pay. Confirm supervision and any school-credit requirements before accepting.

Background

International Business becomes employable through a concrete capability: country research, language proficiency, procurement analysis, market entry or cross-border operations. The word international does not itself establish a role’s analytical content or travel opportunities. Search by function and then geography. A domestic team serving international customers can provide more relevant experience than an overseas placement with little supervision or substantive work.
