Build this work sample

Use public or approved classroom data to examine a behavioral hypothesis. Explain the measure’s limitations, compare a baseline with your preferred analysis and discuss a plausible alternative explanation. For an applied version, propose how a team could test a usability or learning problem without collecting unnecessary sensitive information.

A test that makes the sample credible

State how the construct in your project is measured and what an alternative measure might change. Do not infer diagnosis or individual intent from a small educational exercise. Explain the consent, privacy and supervision boundaries, and distinguish research-assistant preparation from clinical authority.

This is an editorial preparation exercise, not an employer assessment or a claim that a program assigns this work.

Social research, user insight and evaluation

Social research skills can support evaluation, customer insight, community research and organizational studies. Search research assistant, qualitative research, evaluation, insights and social science intern. The BLS sociologist profile explains the professional research occupation; it is not a statement that undergraduate internships require or confer the same qualifications.

User experience, interaction design and product research

User experience work can involve research, interaction design, information architecture, usability testing or interface implementation. Search UX design intern, product design intern, interaction design, UX research and accessibility, then examine the duties. The BLS web development and digital design profile provides adjacent occupational context; specialized UX research internships may have their own degree requirements.

Business analytics and decision support

Business analytics is useful when it changes a decision. That can mean investigating a decline in conversion, estimating a capacity constraint or reconciling two reporting systems before a manager acts. Search business analyst, operations analyst, decision science, business intelligence and analytics intern. The BLS operations research profile describes a more mathematical neighboring occupation; not every business analytics internship requires optimization or advanced modeling.

Human resources and people operations

Human resources internships can cover recruiting operations, learning and development, compensation analysis, employee experience or people systems. These are not interchangeable with general office administration. Search people operations, HR analyst, talent acquisition, learning and development and compensation intern. The BLS human resources specialist profile provides occupational context for recruiting and employee-related processes.

Background

Psychology can support behavioral research, human resources, program analysis and user research without being clinical practice. Choose the route that fits your methods and interests. An undergraduate degree does not qualify you to diagnose or treat people, but it can provide a basis for careful observation, measurement and evidence appraisal. A project should show restraint in interpretation rather than relying on psychological terminology to sound authoritative.
