Start here: Global Advantage is a four-day pre-internship experience tied to 2027 internship applications
KPMG currently lists Global Advantage under Pre-Internship Programs, separate from its Internship Programs. The firm describes a four-day global experience for future KPMG interns with networking, workshops led by KPMG leaders and leadership-skill development. Previous editions were hosted in Prague, Brussels and Copenhagen.
| Question | Current employer-backed answer |
|---|---|
| Program type | Pre-internship program; KPMG describes it as a four-day global experience |
| Who enters the funnel | Students who first submit an application for a 2027 KPMG Internship Position; eligible candidates are then emailed the Global Advantage application link |
| Program content | Networking, workshops led by KPMG leaders and leadership development |
| Prior host cities | Prague, Brussels and Copenhagen |
| 2027 host city | Not stated on the reviewed page |
| Exact 2027 program dates | Not stated on the reviewed page |
| Standalone Global Advantage deadline | Not stated on the reviewed page |
| Compensation | Not stated on the reviewed page |
| Travel / lodging coverage | Not stated on the reviewed page |
| Guaranteed internship or offer | Not stated; the page requires an internship application before the separate Global Advantage application |
The current entry route is unusually specific. KPMG says that after a student submits an application for a 2027 Internship Position, eligible candidates will automatically be emailed the link to apply to Global Advantage. That means the internship application comes first. It does not mean every 2027 internship applicant is eligible for, invited to or selected for Global Advantage.

Apply to the internship you actually want before optimizing for Global Advantage
Because KPMG gates Global Advantage behind a 2027 internship application, choose the internship on its own merits first. Read the exact office, practice, graduation timing, degree requirements, work-authorization language and application status in the live requisition. A four-day international program is not a reason to submit to an internship track you would not actually accept.
The employer page does not publish a universal Global Advantage eligibility checklist beyond the internship-linked invite language. Do not manufacture a class year, GPA floor, major list, citizenship rule or prior-internship requirement for the program. The controlling next-cycle details are the internship requisition and the application link KPMG sends to candidates it deems eligible.
Keep the sequence straight on your tracker: 1) submit a qualifying 2027 internship application; 2) if KPMG sends the Global Advantage link, check that application’s exact terms; 3) submit the separate Global Advantage application if it fits. An invitation to apply is not program selection.

Global Advantage and the Global Internship Program are two different international experiences
The names are easy to merge incorrectly. Global Advantage sits in KPMG’s pre-internship section and lasts four days. Its published purpose is exposure, networking, leader-led workshops and leadership development for future KPMG interns.
| Route | Current format | Where it sits in recruiting |
|---|---|---|
| Global Advantage | Four-day global experience with networking, leader-led workshops and leadership development | Pre-internship; current entry route starts after a 2027 internship application |
| Global Internship Program (GIP) | KPMG internship that includes four weeks abroad with international teams on major client accounts | Internship; participant starts the internship at a U.S. KPMG office before the international assignment |
The Global Internship Program, or GIP, sits in KPMG’s internship section. KPMG says a GIP participant first starts the internship at a KPMG office in the U.S. and then spends four weeks on assignment abroad working with international teams on major client accounts. That is work inside an internship, not a four-day pre-internship program.
Do not copy GIP’s four-week client assignment onto Global Advantage. Do not call Global Advantage an international internship unless KPMG changes the program and says so. On a résumé, a selected Global Advantage participant should use the exact program name and describe only the activities actually completed.

Embark is also separate: it is an internship, not another name for Global Advantage
KPMG’s Embark Scholars Program is listed with internships, not with Global Advantage’s pre-internship programs. KPMG describes Embark as an internship with technical and professional development across service areas for high-performing first-generation or community-college students pursuing or intending an accounting, equivalent or IT-related bachelor’s or master’s degree and interested in public accounting.
A student can therefore face three different KPMG decisions: a standard 2027 internship plus possible Global Advantage eligibility, the separate Global Internship Program route, or Embark if the applicant fits Embark’s specific audience and timing. Keep each program’s application, employment status and requirements attached to that exact route.
Keep the unpublished 2027 logistics unknown until KPMG sends or posts them
The reviewed KPMG page names 2027 internship applications as the current gateway but does not publish a 2027 Global Advantage city, exact dates, separate application deadline, participant compensation, travel reimbursement, lodging coverage, acceptance rate or conversion guarantee. Prior host cities show that the experience has traveled internationally; they do not establish the next location.
If you receive the Global Advantage application, save the invitation and record the city, dates, deadline, travel and lodging terms exactly as written. Those details can materially change whether the four-day experience is worth attending, especially if KPMG does not cover all travel costs. Until KPMG states the terms, leave them unknown rather than copying logistics from another KPMG program.

Use Global Advantage as a development event; judge the internship separately
The practical decision is still the 2027 internship. Choose the practice and office where the work fits you, then treat Global Advantage as an additional development opportunity if KPMG makes you eligible to apply. The program can add context and relationships, but the current page does not promise that participation changes internship selection, creates a return offer or guarantees later employment.
For discovery, compare Global Advantage with KPMG Embark and with current accounting or technology-consulting routes. Then return to the employer’s live internship search before submitting, because availability and role-specific requirements can change independently of the standing program page.
