The event is a campus hackathon, not a job or internship. Seton Hall welcomes projects ranging from software and hardware prototypes to business proposals and social-impact initiatives, so students can contribute through coding, analysis, strategy, design or domain expertise.

The reviewed page does not publish a main hackathon registration deadline. The separate T-shirt design competition has a February 5, 2027 deadline, but that is not the participant-registration cutoff.

The 2027 page is broad by major but campus-specific

Seton Hall says the event is open to its undergraduate and graduate students across fields including computer science, finance and business, healthcare, arts and humanities, communications, nursing, and the social and natural sciences.

That breadth matters because the event is explicitly interdisciplinary. A finance student can contribute to a FinTech model or business case; a health student can help frame a bioinformatics problem; a communications or design student can own user research or presentation work. Coding is one contribution route, not the only one.

The reviewed 2027 page does not state a minimum GPA, prior hackathon requirement, prior internship requirement or minimum technical-experience threshold. It also does not establish eligibility for students who are not enrolled at Seton Hall.

The 24 hours produce a project that judges can inspect

Seton Hall lists possible challenge areas such as health and bioinformatics, FinTech, security and sports innovation. Teams work across disciplines, with industry mentors available for data analytics, real-world applications and business strategy.

The event also includes preparation through workshops in data science, AI and design thinking, plus industry overviews and sessions on problem solving, teamwork and collaboration in technology.

A panel drawn from Blue Owl Capital, corporate partners and Seton Hall faculty judges solutions on creativity, impact and technical feasibility. Your durable output should be the artifact you actually built or proposed, the analysis behind it, the presentation and the part of the solution you personally owned.

The strongest signal is the project; the badge is supporting evidence

Seton Hall says participants can earn micro-credentials and digital badges through its Continuing Education division. Those credentials can verify participation or completion, but they do not substitute for being able to explain the underlying work.

For recruiting, save the project files or screenshots you are allowed to keep, the final presentation, the event credential, judging or prize evidence if earned, and a short record of your own contribution. A precise resume line names the hackathon and project rather than presenting the event as employment at Blue Owl Capital or another mentor organization.

The current 2027 page says participants compete for prizes but does not give one exact main-event prize schedule. Do not copy a prize amount from the separate T-shirt competition or from a prior year's hackathon into the main event.

Mentor access is useful, but it is not a recruiting promise

The 2027 event page names industry mentors from Blue Owl Capital and other corporate partners and says judges include corporate experts. That creates real exposure to practitioners and feedback on a project.

It does not create an internship at Blue Owl Capital or any other partner. The reviewed page does not promise a recruiter screen, guaranteed interview, internship conversion or job offer. Treat any later recruiting conversation as a separate process.

A useful follow-up after the event is specific: reference the project, one piece of feedback you used and the role you are exploring. Avoid implying that an event judge or mentor supervised you as an employee.

Register, choose a contribution lane and keep applying to internships

Registration is live. Before March, pick the contribution you want to practice: software build, data analysis, business model, user research, domain research, product framing or presentation. That makes it easier to leave with one coherent story instead of a vague attendance line.

After the event, update your resume only with completed work and verified outcomes. Then continue applying directly to software, data, product, finance, healthcare, consulting or other internships that match the project evidence you created.
