The posting classifies iLEAD as an unpaid networking and professional-development event. It is not a paid internship, part-time job or job simulation. The value is early exposure to corporate finance and accounting work, direct contact with employees and hiring leaders, and preparation for later campus recruiting.

As checked September 22, 2026, the employer posting is live. It does not publish a separate hard application deadline in the reviewed text, so do not copy an old iLEAD deadline or assume the Workday posting will remain open through the event date.

The two-years-remaining rule matters more than the freshman/sophomore label

The posting calls out freshmen and sophomores, then gives the broader rule: the ideal undergraduate participant will still have at least two years remaining in their education after the event in May 2027. Use your actual graduation plan to test that condition rather than relying only on a class-year label.

Transamerica names Accounting, Finance, Risk Management & Insurance, Management Information Systems and Business Analytics as example majors and also allows similar fields. The posting does not publish a minimum GPA in the reviewed text.

A previous internship is not listed as a requirement. Do not turn that into a promise that experience does not matter. Transamerica says selection considers academics, initiative, leadership, extracurricular activities and communication skills, so applicants still need evidence of how they have used those traits in school, work, clubs, projects or other responsibilities.

Expect exposure and conversations, not client work

Transamerica says participants hear from industry leaders, network with full-time employees and explore finance and accounting career paths. The posting names Internal Audit, Corporate Tax, Investment Reporting and Management Reporting among the areas students may encounter.

Group activities and networking with fellow student leaders and Transamerica professionals are part of the event. Use them to learn what junior work actually looks like: what information arrives, what analysis is performed, what a new hire produces and how the work is reviewed.

The employer does not describe iLEAD as producing a graded financial model, investment memo, audit workpaper or other portable work sample. Do not claim client work or an internship deliverable after attending. The credible signal is selective participation plus the specific sessions, conversations and exercises you actually complete.

Build the application around the selection signals Transamerica names

For academics, point to a course, assignment or project that required careful quantitative or business reasoning. For initiative, use a situation where you started or improved something without waiting for a formal title. For leadership, describe the decision or coordination work you owned rather than only naming the club or position.

Extracurricular evidence can be small if it is specific: reconciling a student-organization budget, analyzing membership data, organizing a recruiting event, building a dashboard or leading a project handoff. Communication evidence is stronger when you can explain who needed the information, what you changed for that audience and what happened next.

The current posting does not publish a prior-internship requirement, a minimum GPA or a separate iLEAD assessment sequence in the reviewed text. Do not invent those gates from another Transamerica role or an older cycle.

Keep iLEAD separate from a Transamerica internship

The iLEAD posting explicitly calls the summit unpaid. A Transamerica internship is a different employment relationship with a separate requisition, selection process, work assignment and compensation. Do not list iLEAD as “Finance Intern, Transamerica” on a résumé.

If you attend, a precise résumé label is “iLEAD Accounting & Finance Leadership Summit — Participant.” Then describe only what happened: for example, exposure to corporate finance and accounting functions, structured professional-development sessions, group activities or conversations with employees.

The event’s recruiting value is real but bounded. Transamerica says it can provide a jump start on the next campus recruiting process and a chance to make an impression with hiring leaders for future internships. That is not the same as a guaranteed interview, accelerated final round or internship offer.

Use the summit to decide which later role to pursue

Before the event, choose two functions you want to compare. Internal Audit and Corporate Tax test different interests from Investment Reporting or Management Reporting. Write one question for each about the first assignment an intern or new graduate would actually complete.

After the event, write down one function you would pursue, one you would deprioritize and the evidence behind each decision. Then search Transamerica’s current internship postings rather than assuming the summit itself has converted into a role.

If you are still early in college, keep building evidence while you wait for the next recruiting cycle. A small accounting, finance, data or operations project can give you something concrete to discuss when the internship application opens.
