Published dates and the registration route
BDO’s October 1, 2026 program page targets students three or more years from graduation who have not previously accepted a BDO offer. Use the expected completion date of your actual degree plan rather than assuming every freshman or sophomore qualifies. If you are near the three-year boundary or have more than one planned degree, confirm which completion date and session date BDO uses.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Audience | Students three or more years from graduation who have not accepted a BDO offer. |
| Formats | Virtual session, office visit and mentoring; exploration, not an internship offer. |
| Virtual sessions | November 10, 2026 and April 22, 2027; confirm the spring time/zone from the invitation. |
| Office details | January 2027 is an announcement period, not a confirmed office-visit date. |
| Registration cutoff | Not published in the checked program page. A session date is not a submission deadline. |
| Option | Published information |
|---|---|
| Fall virtual session | November 10, 2026, 1:00–2:30 p.m. EST |
| Spring virtual session | April 22, 2027, 3:00–4:30 p.m.; the page repeats “PM” and prints EST. Confirm the timezone in the invitation. |
| Office visits | More details expected January 2027; no visit date published in this overview |
| Mentoring | One-to-one format; use the registration instructions for arrangements |
Use “Sign Up Today” on BDO’s program page to reach its registration form. The overview publishes event dates, not a registration closing date or an internship application deadline. Check the form and confirmation for the session you select.
The spring listing repeats “PM” and labels the time EST. Confirm the organizer’s timezone in the invitation before converting April’s session to local time. January 2027 is when BDO says more office-visit details will come; it is not a published office-visit date.
Choose the smallest commitment that answers your question
For a first look at public accounting, start with a virtual session. An office visit is more useful when you are considering that location. Mentoring makes sense when you have a decision to discuss over time, such as selecting coursework or comparing two kinds of work.
| Your current decision | Useful preparation |
|---|---|
| Whether public accounting interests you | Bring one question about the day-to-day work to a virtual session. |
| Whether a particular office is practical | Check the journey and costs; ask about local teams and the visit arrangements. |
| Which course or project to choose next | Bring the two options and your actual degree constraints to a mentoring conversation. |
Before committing to travel, ask what the visit includes and which expenses you would cover. A virtual session may answer a general question without the cost of a trip. These are suggestions for choosing a format, not promises about the event agenda.
For an office visit, your useful question is local: what work do new interns in this office do, and in which season are those teams hiring? For mentoring, bring one decision and the options available to you. Registering for every format is less useful than leaving one conversation with a question answered and a next step you can carry out.
A $125 gap does not identify five unpaid members
Practice example, not a BDO assessment: 80 club members owe $25 each. Expected dues are $2,000, but bank receipts total $1,875. A treasurer concludes that five members have not paid.
The gap is $125, equivalent to five full dues payments. But that is only one explanation. All 80 members could have paid and $125 could have been deducted in fees. Partial payments, refunds or money from another activity could also affect the total.
The next useful document is a member-level payment list, matched to the payment platform and bank settlement. Mark which differences are explained and which need evidence. Do not send five people a payment demand based solely on the aggregate gap.
A specific question for a speaker is: “When records disagree, how does a new team member decide which source to investigate first?” You now have a small problem to discuss instead of a generic claim that you are detail-oriented.
A message a mentor can answer
Adapt this to a real decision: “I am choosing between an introductory accounting elective and a database course next term. I enjoyed reconciling a club budget, but I also liked finding duplicate records in a class project. Which early-career assignments would give me a better test of those interests?”
Include the relevant course descriptions when the person agrees to discuss them. You are asking for their perspective on the work; your academic adviser remains the source for degree prerequisites.
After the conversation, act on one recommendation and report the result when useful. “I rebuilt the reconciliation and found the fees were posted separately” gives a mentor more to respond to than another general request for career advice.
Keep a short record of the recommendation and its reason. If the mentor suggests taking a database course, ask which assignment it would prepare you for and what a beginner could make to test that skill. That lets you evaluate the advice against your own timetable instead of collecting recommendations you cannot use.
Already closer to graduation? Look at actual internships
A student only one or two years from graduating is outside the audience described on the Pathway page. Rather than treating that as exclusion from BDO generally, look at the separate internship listings and their graduation windows.
BDO describes its internships as paid. A Pathway registration is not an application to one of those roles, and the event page does not establish an internship’s pay rate. Use the exact posting for the work, location and required documents.
Can you apply if BDO does not visit your campus? BDO says positions are posted on its career website for all candidates, including those at schools where it does not actively recruit. Use “Search Internship Opportunities” on the internship page. A campus event is not the only route to a listing.
BDO describes internship roles as predominantly on-site and location-specific, with some situational remote or hybrid arrangements. Do not infer a remote placement from a virtual Pathway session. Compare the actual office and working arrangement with your travel, housing and course commitments.
Build your shortlist around a named business line and season. For each requisition, note the office, graduation window, work described, requested materials and any closing date. If the overview does not specify a document or pay rate, leave it unconfirmed until the posting or recruiter supplies it. The career-search link is a route to openings, not a guarantee that a suitable role is currently available.
