HBK encourages applicants interested in its Pittsburgh, Erie, Hermitage and Meadville, Pennsylvania offices plus Columbus and Youngstown, Ohio to apply for this Midwest event. The reviewed page does not publish a final application date, so “rolling” should not be converted into an assumed closing day.

REVEAL is described as an interactive summer leadership conference and behind-the-scenes look at the firm. The page does not state participant pay or a stipend, and it does not state a prior-internship requirement.

The hard gates are accounting major, 3.25 GPA and graduation in 2029 or later

The current Midwest REVEAL page asks for bachelor’s or master’s candidates majoring in accounting at an accredited institution, a minimum 3.25 GPA and an expected graduation date of 2029 or later. Those are published applicant requirements, not suggested profile characteristics.

HBK also asks applicants to be involved in the classroom, on campus and in the community. The page does not translate that sentence into a minimum number of organizations or a required leadership title, so use real involvement rather than inventing a threshold.

A previous internship is not listed as a requirement. A student without prior accounting employment can therefore evaluate REVEAL on the published academic and involvement rules, while recognizing that rolling admission still makes selection competitive.

REVEAL is broad service-line exposure, not client accounting work

HBK says REVEAL includes panel discussions and learning from subject-matter experts, with exposure to audit and assurance, tax advisory, accounting, wealth management and business valuation. Students can meet team members from associate through principal level and participate in a community-service event.

The current page does not promise that each participant completes a graded case, client deliverable, valuation model, tax return, audit workpaper or other portable work sample. The credible signal is acceptance plus what you can accurately explain about the service lines, exercises and conversations you completed.

Use the breadth to make a decision. If audit, tax and valuation all sound similar before the conference, leave with a written comparison of the junior-level work, review process and skills that differ across them.

Rolling admission rewards an early, specific application

HBK says admission decisions are rolling and the current page is accepting applications. With no final deadline published, waiting for an invented spring cutoff creates unnecessary risk. Apply once your GPA, graduation timing and application materials are accurate and ready.

The easiest evidence to prepare is already implied by the requirements: one accounting or business example from class, one campus or community responsibility and one reason you want to compare public-accounting service lines now. The goal is specificity, not pretending that you already know which practice you will choose.

If you have no accounting internship yet, a course project, volunteer finance responsibility, tutoring, part-time work or student-organization role can still show reliability, quantitative care and communication. Keep the distinction between evidence of readiness and actual accounting employment clear.

HBK REVEAL is not the same experience as an HBK internship

HBK’s careers page separates REVEAL from its internship program. The firm says HBK interns gain real-world experience and do much of the same work as entry-level staff accountants. REVEAL, by contrast, is described as education, interactive discussion and a look inside the firm.

If you attend REVEAL, a clean resume label is “HBK REVEAL Interactive Leadership Conference — Participant.” Do not label yourself an HBK accounting intern unless you separately earn and complete an internship role.

HBK’s careers page says the firm hosts its interactive summer leadership program annually, which supports treating REVEAL as a recurring early-career program. That does not establish future dates beyond the currently published June 3, 2027 Midwest event, and it does not establish an automatic recruiting conversion.

Use REVEAL to narrow the service line before internship recruiting

Before June 3, pick two service lines you genuinely need to distinguish, such as audit versus tax or audit versus valuation. Ask people at different seniority levels what a new intern produces, where the work usually gets stuck and what strong first-year performance looks like.

After the event, write down which service line you would pursue first and the evidence for that choice. Then use HBK’s separate internship and entry-level opportunities rather than treating conference attendance as an employment application.

If your graduation date puts the main internship cycle farther away, keep adding accounting evidence in the meantime. One small project with inspectable calculations or documentation can give the next recruiter more to evaluate than conference attendance alone.
