Where to find marketing internships

Start with the employer’s internship or university careers page. Adobe names marketing among its university opportunities; P&G includes marketing in its student programs. These are search routes, not a promise that a particular role is accepting applications.

Search “marketing intern” alongside a function: content, brand, product marketing, growth or market research. Check the actual role’s enrollment, graduation window, location, dates and requested materials before applying.

Recorded marketing work and programme paths

Compare a product-marketing work example, a named marketing path and programme-level marketing options; then choose a sample for the work.

These dated references describe a historical intern profile, a programme hub and possible marketing placements. They do not confirm currently open marketing roles. Keep the source-check date with each reference and verify the exact employer route before applying.

  1. Dell Technologies · August 2026 intern profile

    Presales and product-marketing internship examples

An August 2026 Product Marketing intern profile describes market research and strategic storytelling about agentic AI and PC workflows.

    Eligibility and recorded status

The two intern profiles illustrate role differences but do not establish universal academic, graduation, work-authorization or sponsorship requirements. Students should use them to understand the work, then check the exact current requisition for the qualifications Dell is applying to that role and location.

  2. Target · Internship programme hub

Target internship hub and recruiting cycle

The recorded Target hub names a Marketing Associate path alongside other, different internship functions.

    Eligibility and recorded status

The standing internship hub does not publish one universal degree, major, class year, graduation window, work-authorization rule or sponsorship policy for every Target internship. Those requirements belong to the current requisition, so students should use the hub to choose a path and then verify the exact qualifications on the role they plan to apply for.

Recorded programme hub; its fall and rolling guidance is not a fixed deadline or proof of an opening.

    Corporate summer internship

The recorded corporate summer overview includes marketing among its business and technical functions.

    Eligibility and recorded status

The summer program targets rising seniors. Apply to an actual published position rather than treating a program page as an application.

    Eligibility and recorded status

Placement depends on skills, interests and business need; no single national deadline was recorded.

Prepare a small work sample

Use these original fictional exercises to practise the work and explain your decisions.

Choose a role and the right sample

Look at what the intern would produce, not just the job title. Market-research work includes consumer research, measurement and reporting; other marketing roles call for writing, campaign decisions or channel tests. Use the assignment to choose your sample.

Practice a marketing campaign

A practice brief with a choice to make

Fictional brief: a campus club has 30 seats for a beginner spreadsheet workshop. It wants registrations from students who can attend, not simply more page views. The class costs nothing, lasts 45 minutes and requires a laptop.

Write two options: ‘Learn five spreadsheet shortcuts in 45 minutes’ and ‘Still fixing your club budget by hand? Bring it to our beginner workshop.’ The first tests interest in a specific skill; the second tests whether a recognizable problem attracts the audience. Neither is automatically the better message.

Now use this fictional campaign result. If only 12 of the 20 registrants attend, cost per attendee is $80 ÷ 12 = $6.67, not $4. Decide which result matters before presenting a success claim.

Show the execution, not just a campaign idea

Include the brief, both messages, the registration-page copy and a note explaining your preferred test. The page should say when and where the workshop happens, who it suits and what to bring. A clever headline does not compensate for a missing location.

For an analytics application, include the small calculation sheet and explain whether visits and registrations were deduplicated. The figures above describe the recorded activity; they do not prove the campaign caused every registration. Label the entire exercise as fictional rather than inventing a result for a real club.

For a writing application, give one before-and-after passage and explain the revision. Use real campaign results only when you can identify their source and your contribution.

Questions to ask the team

Find out whether you will see the result of your work

Ask: ‘Who sets the brief and reviews the work? Will I see campaign results and make revisions?’ A role with several tasks can be useful when someone teaches you how they connect.

For a listing that combines events, sales and social content, ask how a normal week is divided. Tailor your sample to the largest responsibility rather than assuming the role is the part of marketing you prefer.

Choose one original practice task

Choose a task that matches a skill you want to demonstrate. Each original invented case has downloadable inputs, a separate answer key and a failure check. Build your own result, ask someone to reproduce it, then retain a dated revision. Describe it as independent work.
